What’s your policy on confidentiality?Our work with you is always confidential. We never share any information without any party’s permission. This includes adoption reunification cases. We will help you seek and negotiate reunification, but we will also respect all requests for privacy and non-contact.

What do you charge?Cost of our investigative services varies depending on your needs. Investigations requiring only computer research will have a different fee structure than investigations requiring surveillance, for example. Charges may include mileage, making copies of records, or conducting interviews. Contact us to discuss your needs, and we can give you an estimate.

Can foster parents consult you for advice?Yes, we offer phone consultations regarding your rights as a foster parent. We can advise you on the laws regarding intervention and answer questions specific to your situation. As long as we consult within legal constraints, we’re happy to help.

Are you a licensed private investigator?Discovery Investigative Services is licensed with the State of Texas. We are also a member of the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators.

What evidence and information will I receive from your investigations?All legally allowed information we collect will be compiled into a final investigative report. You will receive an organized document with a summary, details of the techniques we used, and the information we found.

How will you keep me informed while you’re running my investigation?You are free to contact us anytime through email or by text message. We answer as time allows. Generally, we respond within 24 hours or less.

Can foster parents hire Discovery Investigative Services directly in an intervention case?Due to conflict of interest issues, no. Foster parents will have to hire us through an attorney. We need to remain unbiased so we never jeopardize a foster placement.
